Membership Administrator
We are looking for a person that has great admin and people skills and wants to be a part of this amazing team that rescues and rehabilitates wildlife in South Australia. You can work from home.

IT Administration Officer
We are looking for a smart and helpful Salesforce whiz to help us manage our incredibly important database of animal and member records. You can work from home and we expect the role will take 2-6 hours a week depending on the time of month and reporting requirements.
There will be a thorough handover from the current IT Officer and you will work closely with the Board and SOWFI operations team.
Qualifications and experience with Salesforce is essential.
Your volunteer work in this role will contribute to providing better outcomes for our native wildlife and assisting our Wildlife Volunteers to carry on their role as rescuers and carers.

Wildlife Training Co-ordinator
We are looking for someone who will be responsible for planning and coordinating our future training dates and venues to provide training to potential volunteers and the general public and who will be able to attend courses to oversee operations where possible, or organise alternative volunteer to attend.
We expect this role will take 10-15 hours per month during the earlier months of the year.

Box Installation Team
This is a real outdoors action team that installs the boxes our animals are released in for our wildlife carers. To follow best practice safety guidelines you will use ladders, harnesses and safety gear when climbing trees, while ensuring we place the least stress on the animals in their final stage of rehabilitation - the release!
Training and equipment are provided.

Wildlife Rescuer
Many calls that come into our 24/7 Wildlife Rescue line require someone that is confident and trained to contain and transport the bird or animal to a vet or carer. At other times we need people to collect animals from vets and transport to our wildlife carers who are often busy with feeds and cleaning enclosures.
This is a great role for someone that likes driving and helping others and is capable of problem-solving when a rescue becomes tricky. You will be supported by a District Co-ordinator and provided with extensive practical training at our Wildlife Rescue 101.
This position requires training before you can volunteer and the purchase of some equipment. Please go to our training page to see when the next course is available.

Caring for native wildlife is a privilege and a rewarding experience. It also requires commitment, emotional strength and a support network. SOWFI provides extensive and ongoing training in triage and care, and you will have the support of your team and District Co-ordinator. Our mission is to rehabilitate and release when we can or relieve suffering when it is necessary.
This position requires training before you can volunteer and the purchase of some equipment. Please go to our training page to see when the next course is available.

This SOWFI Wildlife Rescue phone team takes calls from members of public who are concerned about a native bird or animal and helps find the quickest and best solution. A satisfying role for people who love wildlife, love to help and are good at problem solving.
Our 4-hour phone shifts cover 24 hours, 7 days a week and you must be available to work at different times across the week, including weekends.
At the beginning, you would work in tandem with an experienced operator. Your shift times would be worked out with you and the Roster Coordinator, taking into consideration your ongoing commitments.
Eligible Centrelink volunteers can find 15 hours a week in this role.

Your role is then to contain, and transport injured, sick and orphaned animals and birds using the SOWFI Wildlife Rescue vehicle to vets or carers.
You will have a regular rostered day/s collecting the vehicle from Devon Park at 9am and returning the vehicle by 5pm. Training, a uniform shirt and hi viz vest will be provided.
Eligible Centrelink volunteers can find 15 hours a week in this role.
