How To Bequest
How to Leave a Gift to Save Our Wildlife Foundation Inc (SOWFI) in Your Will
1) Make or Update Your Will
When making your will it’s important to consider the needs of your loved ones first.
After your loved ones are provided for, including a charity bequest in your will can ensure the causes you really care about are remembered as well.
When writing your will we recommend you get legal advice to ensure your will is valid and that it will achieve everything you wish.
If you need to make a will we recommend you consult a solicitor who is experienced in wills and estates and you should contact several solicitors to get an estimate of fees up front.
For help finding a solicitor you can contact us or you can search the Law Society SA website.
2) Decide Your Gift
There are many different ways you can leave a gift to SOWFI after your loved ones have been provided for, examples include:
3) Notify Loved Ones and SOWFI
We appreciate loved ones come first and we believe it’s an important step to talk to your loved ones about your will to ensure your final wishes are carried out.
We also ask that you notify us of your intended gift although you may remain anonymous if you wish.
If you notify us it helps us plan for the future and gives us the opportunity to thank you.
SOWFI bequest information booklet, 'A Will to save our Wildlife' explains clearly the steps you should take and things to consider before you visit your solicitor to make or update your will. It also includes the correct wording for solicitors to include if you wish to bequest to SOWFI. Our booklet is free to anyone over 18 who would like a copy.
