How To Bequest

How to Leave a Gift to Save Our Wildlife Foundation Inc (SOWFI) in Your Will

1) Make or Update Your Will
When making your will it’s important to consider the needs of your loved ones first.
After your loved ones are provided for, including a charity bequest in your will can ensure the causes you really care about are remembered as well.

When writing your will we recommend you get legal advice to ensure your will is valid and that it will achieve everything you wish.

If you need to make a will we recommend you consult a solicitor who is experienced in wills and estates and you should contact several solicitors to get an estimate of fees up front.

For help finding a solicitor you can contact us or you can search the Law Society SA website.

2) Decide Your Gift
There are many different ways you can leave a gift to SOWFI after your loved ones have been provided for, examples include:
  • Leaving a percentage of your estate to SOWFI to support native animals.
  • Leaving the remainder of your estate to SOWFI to support wildlife, protecting and preserving native animals for generations to come.
  • Leaving a fixed gift, which could be in the form of cash, property or other assets to SOWFI.
  • You can access information here about how to word leaving a bequest to SOWFI in your will.

3) Notify Loved Ones and WIRES
We appreciate loved ones come first and we believe it’s an important step to talk to your loved ones about your will to ensure your final wishes are carried out.
We also ask that you notify us of your intended gift although you may remain anonymous if you wish.
If you notify us it helps us plan for the future and gives us the opportunity to thank you and welcome you to our Eternally Native club for Benefactors should you wish to join.
