Wildlife Affected By Heat & Bushfires
Over 1 billion animals have perished in the Australian bushfires this summer, potentially hastening extinction for some species.

In South Australia, the survivors have been koalas and kangaroos, with these also being badly affected by smoke and burns.
The smaller marsupials, reptiles and birds are nowhere to be seen when you walk around the devastated bushland.

Save Our Wildlife Foundation is a small and relatively new organisation in the wildlife rehabilitation sector however this summer our volunteers have rescued more than 200 possums, mostly orphaned ringtails.
The way we want to help in the bushfire affected regions is to provide wildlife water wells and possum boxes to help any remaining and incoming animals to survive.
So far we have raised enough money to build 100 wildlife water wells that will be distributed across the Adelaide Hills and Kangaroo Island fire affected areas.
