🪶 How to Run Your Own Paint & Sip for Possums Session
1. Gather Your Materials You’ll need:
A possum box (available from SOWFI - delivered to you*)
External water-based paints – natural non-toxic colours are best
Paint brushes (various sizes for details and large areas)
Water cup & rags for cleaning brushes
Protective drop sheet or old newspaper
Your favourite drink and snacks
Optional: music playlist, candles, or wildlife-themed decorations for ambience
2. Set the Scene
Choose a comfortable space with a sturdy table and good lighting.
Cover the table to protect it from paint spills.
Arrange paints and brushes for easy access.
Pour a drink, put on your favourite tunes, and get ready to unwind!
3. Let Creativity Flow
Paint your box using wildlife-friendly acrylic paint.
You can go for earthy camouflage tones or bold, fun designs – it’s up to you!
Avoid painting inside the box or near entry holes (possums prefer natural wood inside).
Allow paint to dry between layers.
4. Share the Fun
Take photos and tag @saveourwildlifefoundation with #PaintForPossums
Share your masterpiece on social media to inspire others!
5. Deliver or Install
Once dry install it safely on your property following wildlife-friendly installation guidelines included in the pack or donate to your local kindergarten or school to install
6. Celebrate Your Impact Each box provides essential shelter for South Australia’s native possums and helps SOWFI continue its rescue and rehabilitation work.
Thank you for making a difference – one brushstroke at a time.
